History
Likha Labs was founded by Joseph Carranza, a Film Festival Director and Cultural, Community Organizer, and Producer with a deep passion for storytelling. Through years of curating cinematic experiences and producing events that celebrate culture, Joseph saw a critical need for a dedicated space where Filipino filmmakers could flourish.
Born during a time when global conversations about representation and equity in media were taking center stage, Likha Labs emerged as a bold response to create an on-road for Filipino voices to be seen and heard. Our vision is rooted in the belief that Filipino stories deserve platforms and resources that match their depth, power, and universality.
To bring this vision to life, we are uniting community leaders, Filipino filmmakers, and industry insiders to build an ecosystem of creativity, collaboration, and opportunity—ensuring that Filipino filmmakers can thrive from spark to screen.
